Panthers drop to .500 in league play

The Panthers played host last Tuesday to Collin County 7-on-7 League competition at Jackie Hendricks Stadium.
However, the Panthers finished 1-2 in on-the-field action, which left them 3-3 in league play after two weeks.
That is good for a three-way tie with Class 3A Farmersville and 2A Melissa.
Class 5A Plano is first at 6-0, while 4A McKinney North stands 2-4 and 5A McKinney Boyd brings up the rear at 1-5.
Princeton traveled Tuesday to McKinney North to do battle with McKinney Boyd, Farmersville and Melissa, the host team. Results were unavailable at press time.
The Panthers opened the second week by falling 24-18 to Melissa.
They suffered a second defeat in the following game at 38-7 to Plano.
Princeton closed out the week on a winning note, pulling out a 16-9 triumph against McKinney North.
The remaining results for each team are as follows: Melissa (won 24-18 over Princeton, won 22-0 against McKinney North and fell 40-25 to McKinney Boyd), Farmersville (won 23-16 over McKinney North, won 26-13 against McKinney Boyd and lost 25-0 to Plano), McKinney North (lost 23-16 to Farmersville, fell 22-0 to Melissa and lost 16-9 to Princeton), Plano (won 20-15 over McKinney Boyd, won 38-7 versus Princeton and won 25-0 over Farmersville) and McKinney Boyd (lost 20-15 to Plano, fell 26-13 to Farmersville and won 40-25 against Melissa).
Junior varsity report
The Panther junior varsity picked up a 28-13 win over McKinney Boyd at Jackie Hendricks Stadium.
They now stand 1-1.
The remaining records are: Plano (2-0), Melissa, McKinney Boyd and McKinney North (each 1-1) and Farmersville (0-2).
Also picking up victories last Tuesday were Melissa (39-21 over Farmersville) and Plano (44-14 over McKinney North).
The Panthers returned Tuesday to McKinney North to take on McKinney Boyd. Results were unavailable at press time.
