CJ’s owner Jennifer Rico, front center, cuts the ribbon in front of her boutique with help from friends Hannah Rodgers and Wendy Willis, and chamber members (back row) Virginia Gathright, Becky Coop, Glendy Avila and Franklin Parker.
On Dec. 12 CJ’s opened for business. Boasting colorful separates and dresses for juniors, women and babies as well, the boutique brings a whole new level of style to downtown Princeton.
Owner Jennifer Rico’s husband is employed by the U.S. Department of State, and is currently serving in Iraq. Partly to keep busy during his deployment, and influenced by her lifelong love of shopping, Mrs. Rico decided to open her own store. She named the boutique after her two young sons, Cameron Jeffrey and Colton James.
Last year Rico began researching stores, contacting wholesalers and scouting several locations before settling on the renovated home that now houses her boutique.
Though the building was still in early stages of its remodel when she first saw it, Rico said, “you have to see it for what it can be - the full potential.”
Colorful touches and animal print decor now adorn the walls of CJ’s, alongside the glittering accessories and ensembles.
The day of CJ’s ribbon cutting, chamber members seemed content browsing the wares while CJ and her friends prepared for the crowning moment - cutting the ribbon signifying the official start of her dream fulfilled.
CJ’s is located at 521 Fourth St. across from Veterans Memorial Park.
