Chamber members join with Shannon Ford and her family to celebrate the opening of Double T Photgraphy studio on North Fourth Street in Princeton.

Oct. 31 Double T Photography cut the ribbon and cake that signified the grand opening of its downtown photography studio. For almost two months the newly-remodeled building at 513 North Fourth St. has been bustling with activity, including Halloween and Santa photoshoots which lured hundreds of visitors.

Though Double T is new to the downtown area, its owner is no stranger to Princeton or photography.

Shannon Ford, who founded the company and is the primary photographer, has been a teacher in Princeton for several years, and a photographer nearly all her life.

“She always had a passion for shooting the camera,” said Stephen Ford, Shannon’s husband and Marketing Director for Double T. The company is named after the couple’s two sons, Tyler and Todd.

After working at a professional photo lab, Mrs. Ford became determined to start her own studio and began shooting professionally in 1999. She formed Double T in 2003 and has since received a degree in photography from The School of Photography.

With business booming, Ford enlisted the help of her sister Cindy Watson, who has became an assistant photographer. And Oct. 2 the Double T team opened the studio.

Both the Fords and their extended family, many who were put to work cutting cake and serving punch during the grand opening, seemed thrilled to finally be in a studio after years of working from home.

Along with more ample space, the new location should increase the company’s visibility and allow their already steady business to flourish.

Double T is a full-service special event photography company that specializes in weddings, senior and family portraits, corporate and special events. Photographers are available for events in Texas and Southern Oklahoma.

“Our photographers and digital specialists are very experienced and talented artist,” said Mr. Ford.

“We offer studio, environment, location and destination shoots. We have a huge variety of backgrounds and studio props and sets. We also have many environmental locations that we use and recommend on a regular basis,” Mr. Ford said.

In addition to basic portraits, Double T also offers custom graphics, photo albums and fine art prints. Samples, which several chamber members fawned over during the ribbon cutting, are on display at the studio.

As part of a Grand Opening Special, Double T is offering 50% off sitting fees and a free 8x10 portrait through Dec. 31.
